Starting 2010 Raw

After weeks of debauchery and indulgence, my body is begging to me cleansed and free. I am also eager to reclaim the "Natural High" that comes with a simple diet w/ lots of raw food. Day 1 of the year I set out to make 2 new raw food recipes.

1. Almond Milk: I have never tasted anything so delectable. I made it myself by soaking the almonds for 10 hours then combining them w/ 3 medjool dates and water. It was Glorious. Way better than store bought, and like heaven in my mouth.

Later I made vegan chocolate peanut butter cookies using the almond milk rather than soy. Yum.

2. Zucchini "pasta" with raw marinara sauce.

I peeled a zucchini into strips to make raw "pasta." Its Raw food 101. I see it everywhere, and I finally did it. I squeezed some lemon on them.

My marinara sauce was amazing. It contained tomato, garlic, onion, spinach, oregano, parsley, and a dash of cayenne pepper.

This dish was as fulfilling and indulgent as a "real" Italian pasta dinner, but all raw and plant-based.

My goal is to eat 80% raw.
